Knump

Description

Knumps are seldom seen without a conjurer by their side, but when they roam independently, they are often found leading a patrol of unbound Squmpers, dutifully guarding the outskirts of towns and villages. More commonly, they serve as steadfast companions to veteran militia conjurers, originally issued as standard Squmpers upon the completion of their rigorous training. Like many synthetic crytures, Knumps are highly customizable, a trait that conjurers eagerly embrace. They often bear intricate carvings or paintings, each marking an allegiance, a celebrated victory, or a tribute to the bond shared between cryture and conjurer.

Combat

A Knump will naturally do its best to create a buffer between its owner and any enemies. It will engage as many foes as possible to keep its charge out of the fray, relying on its high Deflection to defend itself. Thanks to the Bodyguard feature, Knumps don't shy away from taking the brunt of attacks, either. Ultimately, though, they are subservient to their owners and will adopt whatever tactics they are ordered to.
