Site Exploration

Scenario

When players focus their attention and efforts on a small, local area, a Site Exploration ensues. Whether they're exploring a dilapidated ruin, assaulting a camp of outcasts, or exterminating a cryture nest, players will need to put a variety of skills to the test while managing time and risk to achieve their objectives.

Rules

A Site Exploration takes place in Strategic Time, using a tactical map, and rounds are approximately 10 minutes long. Roll Initiative to determine the turn order amongst players. During a Site Exploration, summoned crytures take their turns at the same time as their conjurers.

The longer players stay at a given site, the more likely they are to run into complications. Each site has a base Pressure level equal to its Challenge. At the end of each round, the Pressure of the site increases by 1 and a Complication check is rolled. If the roll meets or exceeds the current Pressure, then no complication happens. Otherwise, roll on the site's Complications table to determine what happens, and reset the Pressure to the base level.
