The Viridian Hall - The headquarters of the Viridian Order, where civil functions are handled.

Open Market - A central square where local farmers and craftsmen regularly bring their products for sale.

The Spicy River - A popular inn and tavern that serves a wide variety of local foods.

The Golden Goblet - An upper class inn with comfortable lodging and high quality food.

Barford

Barford is the scholarly center of Rootrun, boasting a sizable library and a number of magi skilled in several fields of study.

Lucas Loric lords over the village as the Archmage, and directs research with the blessing (and funding) of Duke Oakthorne.

Economy

Academic and magical trades.

Lord's Hall - Residence of Archmage Lucas Loric, where he hosts important guests

League of Magi - The place where League Magi meet to exchange ideas and conduct research. It boasts a library where the rarest tomes are stored, and Archmage Loric also holds court here.

Library - A public repository of common literature, accessible to anyone.

Conjuring Academy - A training ground where Archmage Loric teaches gifted people the art of cryture conjuring.

Enchanter - A craftsman that focuses on artifice and scribing.

Fortwall

Fortwall is the home of the militia's headquarters, with its training grounds, barracks, and armories.

Kasper Starber lords over the village, which he runs like a military camp.

Economy

Work-for-hire and arms manufacturing.

Locations

Lord's Hall - Kasper Starber's residence, and where he directs the day-to-day operations of the Rootrun Militia.

Armory - A place where basic weapons and armor are stockpiled for sale to the Militia.

Training Grounds - A courtyard with equipment for combat practice.

Dining Hall - Serves simple meals to the militia for free, and also contains a board full of freelance work opportunities.

Serpent's Steel - An advanced smithy run by Ferris, a retired conjurer, and his Infidian.

Barracks - Living quarters for members of the Rootrun Militia.

Clinic - Provides medical supplies and potions for expeditions and treatment for injured militiamen.

Rockwood

Rockwood is nestled in the midst of lightly-wooded farmland and the soil in the area is particularly fertile, even for the Vivid Vale.

Chloe governs as the local lord, but she delegates most of the operation to her subordinates.

Economy

Lumber and agriculture.

Lord's Hall - Chloe’s residence, where she spends most of her time in study and experimentation.

Lumberyards - Groves of trees outside the village that are cut and regrown in multi-year rotations.

Robert’s Woodcraft - A skilled woodworker and his apprentices who make all manner of wooden equipment and furnishings.

Granary - Stores of excess food, for trade or emergency.

Bakery - Produces luxury baked goods, beyond simple bread.

Brewery - Creates fermented beverages for the surrounding villages.

Sawmill - A facility where logs are cut and trimmed into lumber.

Ironweal

Ironweal sprung up around a mine, and the soil is rich in minerals as well, making it a good area to grow lithids and calcids.

The village is governed by the Viridian Lord, Geldhart, who takes an active role in defense, but delegates most civic matters.

Mining, metalworking, and crystal production

Locations

Lord's Hall - The residence of Geldhart, which includes a personal armory and forge.

Mines - Low-depth mines that produce base metals to supply local arms and tool makers

Refinery - Smelts metal ores and refines them into ingots.

Blacksmith - Crafts basic equipment and tools for the locals.

Lithid Gardens - Salt- and sugar-producing lithids are grown here, as well as crystals for magic equipment.

Selene’s Slime - An apothecary that provides basic alchemy supplies for conjurers.

Gemcutter - Processes raw minerals from the mines and lithid gardens into usable crystals.

Wilderglade

Wilderglade exists in the most wild part of the Vivid Vale, with fairly dense brush, open woods, and a lush carpet of grass.

Gideon lords over this village and spends most of his time managing the defense of the frontier.

Economy

Meat, dairy and hide production.

Locations

Lord's Hall - Gideon’s residence, including a war room filled with maps where he coordinates patrols and hunts.

Grazing Pastures - Cleared grasslands for the lumps and mounds to graze.

Dairyworks - A place where raw milk is churned to produce cream and butter.

Wool Mill - Produces textiles from the raw wool of some lumps.

Butcher Shop - Turns raw lumps and mounds into cuts of meat and other products.

Tannery - Processes hides into raw leather.

Apiary - Bee farms that produce honey.

Starshire

Starshire lies near the center of the other villages, and is a center of commerce for the Vivid Vale. Anything that can't be sold in one village eventually makes its way to Starshire.

Julian manages the village, taking an active role in commerce, trade and civic roles.

Economy

Imports, finance, and guild commerce.

Locations

Lord's Hall - Where Julian resides and holds court to welcome merchants or mediates guild dealings.

Open Market - An open area in the middle of the village where locals can bring their surplus goods for sale.

Inn - Comfortable lodging that caters to traveling merchants.

Tradesmen Guild - Where local craftsmen and business owners meet to conduct business amongst themselves.

Merchant's Guild - Manages trade routes and assists traveling merchants.

Farmer’s Union - Pools resources from the local farmers to insure crops and negotiate standard prices.

Treasury - A place to store money, mint coins, and exchange currency.
