Features
Herdkin usually have flushed skin tones with warm hair colors, ranging from dark, reddish-brown to light orange. Their eyes come in a wide variety of colors, but always tend towards lighter shades.
Food
Herdkin diets reflect their lifestyle of livestock raising and hunting. They raise many carnids and sectids for a steady supply of milk, honey and eggs, but also regularly slaughter the smaller kinds for meat. Hunting wild lumps and links provides a more steady supply of meat between the growing seasons.
Lifestyle
To Herdkin, social structure and coordination are highly valued. Both features are required for their primary way of life, which revolves around raising livestock and hunting wild game.
Magic
Herdkin value magic for its wide utility. They often employ simple scrying tools for tracking down game, navigating wilderness, and predicting weather. Magic weaponry is always useful to them as well, for both hunting and protection.
Conjurers
Conjuring is viewed as a natural advancement of the Herdkin way of life. Their kinship with animate subcrytures gives them a leg up when handling crytures, so many Herdkin acquire them, even if they aren't fully trained in the art of conjuring.
Crytures
Herdkin see wild crytures as a constant nuisance that attacks livestock and competes with them for game. Bound crytures are viewed in a similar light as livestock, but with much higher stakes in return for higher payoff.
Mythic Crytures
A mythic cryture represents the ultimate hunting game for Herdkin, but their agent crytures are seen as the true prize. Being able to spawn an army of rare crytures and gift them to weaker conjurers is more valuable to them than the power of the mythic cryture itself.
